Best Affirmations for Releasing Shame

Drawing from my experience and my writing, here are four best affirmations for releasing shame.

On Releasing Shame

As a tendency to feel a deep sense of self inadequacy which must be hidden from view, shame can shut down access to all the powerful, positive expressions of who I am and can become.

So much of shame comes from a false interpretation made outside of me but adopted by me as truth.

As a choice, I may choose different understandings about myself which help me embrace a self-image no longer defined by inadequacy.

Affirmation #1:

I am releasing any reason or belief to feel shame towards myself.

Affirmation #1 on Releasing Shame by Cheryl Marlene

What pushes at my heart and pulls at my mind making me feel less than adequate?

What story about myself has defined my past?

What story have I believed which hurts my ability to see the best of myself?

How do I feel ashamed of myself?

I breathe in.

And on my breath out, I release these falsehoods, no-longer-needed beliefs, and anything which holds shame for me.

I openly affirm:

I am releasing any reason or belief to feel shame towards myself.

Affirmation #2:

Affirmation #2

I forgive myself for feeling shameful about myself.

I consider my heart and acknowledge that now is the time to quit with the disappointment of blame-shame.

I see my strength.

I see my light.

I see me within the beauty of my soul.

Now, I forgive.

I release the need to blame.

I release the habit of shame.

Knowing that there is no longer a place in my life for shame:

I forgive myself for feeling shameful about myself.

Affirmation #3

Affirmation #3:

I am allowing the light of my true being to shine.

Within release is the blink of soul light as it begins to emerge within the opening of my heart and the readiness of my mind to believe in my truth found at center.

The light of my truth shines from within my center, illuminating all of me.

Eyes eager to see the journey’s next step, no longer relying exclusively on outside advice, my light shines and I trust myself to find my next step from within.

In peace, I affirm:

I am allowing the light of my true being to shine.

Affirmation #4:

Affirmation #4

I embrace my awesomeness with grace and ease.

The ancient roots of the word awe incorporated both fear and respect, honor and the unfathomable.

Self-awesomeness is the acknowledgment that self is motivated for self by honor and respect within the indescribable expression of All That Is.

I want to know and understand. In my knowing and understanding I learn that in any moment there is always something unknowable, beyond understanding.

Certainty is not possible.

Awesomeness does not expect 100% certainty.

Awesomeness accepts the inexplicable in this moment and takes the next step any way, with respect and honor, toward deeper truth and personal trust.

Releasing any doubt, I affirm:

I embrace my awesomeness with grace and ease.
