Energy Story of Power-Over

When I began writing To Do Your Work, I used a question to feel into the energy of the pressure point. What came out was the energy story of the pressure point moving from feeling overwhelmed by the energy, to self-awareness and to release.

This is the Energy Story of Power-Over following the question: Why do I feel powerless?

I am small and insignificant, unworthy of better, prettier, smarter, wealthier.

To save myself from complete obliteration, I am always THEM – those who don’t matter, are less than, without any redemptive value. I am particularly without value to those who say they protect me and to those who would count me slave.

In my insignificance, I need an overseer, someone who creates walls against the specter of impending death and subjugation by power worse than the master of my existence.

In this state of self-denial, “I” doesn’t exist and has no value, no contribution to be offered.

For I am burden, making no contribution of value. Needy. Unneeded.

As self-absence releases. As self-presence emerges. In the horizon, I see me. I see substance, value, perspective uniquely mine.

I also see choice. My choice. My ability to determine my life for myself. This is not a false hope nor empty desire.

As me, I need neither the protection of an overseer nor need fear those outside of my life.

For in seeing me, and honoring me, and offering me respect, I recognize the abundance within us all.

Walls of separation fall and together within the view of self, I see WE.

As equals, power is personal expression.

No longer used to divide and conquer, life transforms with the power which comes from the beauty of inherent worth.

Not better or worse. Individual, worthy of sharing, living, and loving.

Where once was emptiness, I feel a surge within my heart.

At peace, in love with me, with love for ALL.

Choice is mine and, in this choosing, I can be safe, able to support me and mine.
