Secrets of the Akashic Records

Secrets of the Akashic Records: especially for Prospective Students

When you understand the Akashic Records as a divine flow of energy, then there are really no secrets.

However, without this clarity, the Akashic Records can appear to come from hidden information because there is no specific source of origin information.

This is because the Records are an ancient and divine source of knowing which are now revealing deeper understanding beyond outdated secrets.

When understanding goes beyond outdated metaphors such as a book in a heavenly library and begins to perceive the Akashic Records from an energetic perspective from the soul’s origin, then there is new possibility and support.

Secret #1

Held to be solely a source of information and facts, instead:

The Akashic Records are the soul’s spiritual practice.

The Akashic Records are the Soul’s Spiritual Practice by Cheryl Marlene

Books, libraries, databases, computers are all seen as repositories of information well-organized and notated for easy search and retrieval. Open, retrieve, solve. Easy in, easy out, the right answer. Life reduced to recovery of the recorded word from an authoritative source. What could be better?

Except that life isn’t about the right answer. Life is about learning to deal with ambiguity and challenge and the unexpected.

When you step forward in life, called to connect with something greater than self, you are embarking on a spiritual journey. Life’s spiritual aspect is about awareness and understanding which transcends physical space, linear time, and the five senses. The spiritual journey seeks to join the sense of spiritual transcendence with the physical experience to find balance and unification within itself.

The seeking of inner balance within the best of personal being gives meaning and intention to how life is engaged and experienced. The effort to experience connection between who you are physically and who you are spiritually is the basis of your journey as well as the content of spiritual practice. Spiritual practice is conscious effort to experience the depth and connection of all of you, fully integrated body, mind, heart, and soul.

At the deepest levels, the Akashic Records emerge from the origin of the soul. All that comes to you through your Akashic Records comes from the origin of your soul. The soul origin of the Akashic Records is a powerful conduit both to personal truth and to the motion of your spiritual journey. Each time you connect with the Akashic Records, you are experiencing soul connection and spiritual practice. The intention, integrity, present moment focus, and beginner’s flexibility required of spiritual practice are also the capacities which facilitate the deepest connection possible within the Akashic Records.

Beyond the limitations of the right answer, the Akashic Records are the soul’s spiritual practice.

Secret #2

Erroneously thought to be of Hindu Origin, instead:

The Akashic Records are the physical presence of divine awareness.

No Right Answers in the Akashic Records by Cheryl Marlene

The claim of Hindu origin comes from confusing the origin of the word Akashic as the origin of the Akashic Records. In English, Akashic is defined as “of or pertaining to the Akasha.” What’s Akasha? In its ancient form, Akasha is a Sanskrit word which literally means sky. As a holy language, Sanskrit is used in multiple religions including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Tibetan Bön, each with differing definitions of Akasha. By mistakenly thinking of Sanskrit as Hindu, the Akashic Records have been called Hindu in origin.

Instead, the connection within most religious and spiritual traditions is divine memory or divine awareness.

Pointing to the all-knowing aspects of divinity, God is perceived to have awareness of human existence, action, and frailty. In many religious manuscripts, this awareness is described as an omniscience which begins even before human birth. In whatever manner the divine is perceived, there is the awareness of a transcendence which is conscious of human life and perhaps precedes human consciousness.

Energetically, the Akashic Records manifest in this conscious flow referred to in many religious traditions, including Hinduism, as the universal presence and remembrance of the divine.

This is an excerpt from one of my newest books, 10+ Secrets of the Akashic Records.

Secret #3

Often confused as being a book in a heavenly library, instead:

The Akashic Records are explained as a flow of dynamic energy.

The Akashic Records are not tangible; they are intangible and, thus, best understood from an energetic point of view. Let me explain.

Within most religions is a sacred manuscript which describes the wisdom tradition embraced by believers. This is where misunderstandings about the Akashic Records arise because there is no primary source which definitively explains origin, purpose, or action.

When something is unclear, comparisons and metaphors offer a connection for understanding. This is like that. This acts like that. This looks like that. This reads like that.

To explain the hard-to-grasp, as awareness of the Akashic Records moved into modern thought, they were linked in the mid-1800s with the then well-known religious concept of the Book of Life. The Book of Life, described in three major religious manuscripts of the Quran, the Torah, and the Bible, first appears in human history in the Sumerian civilization as the Tablets of Destiny. At the beginning of the year, the Sumerians believed that the gods wrote down on tablets the lot in life for all humans for the coming year. The Book of Life absorbed this perspective and expanded influence and direction for all as a recording of the allotted fate and destiny of humanity as well as the deeds of human lives. The Book of Life is then used to render a decision on the goodness of a human life on the day of final judgment.

Interestingly, this remembrance of God and the recording of deeds is also observed within other spiritual and religious beliefs such as the weighing of the heart in Egyptian mythology, the Fates of ancient Greece, and Chitra Gupta, as scribe to Yama, the God of Death in India – to name a few.

Books and libraries are easy-to-understand concepts. Relying on this simplicity is understandable. As a heavenly book which records the story of a person’s life, the Akashic Records become an enticing source for the right answer. Open a book, get an answer. Done.

Yet, many forget that the Book of Life is but a metaphor to explain what is both unexplainable and unproveable. The metaphor begins to break down both within factual questioning and literal reasoning. How does this recording happen? Where are all those books kept? If the past, present, and future is already recorded, how is life not pre-determined?

However, taken as a metaphor, the book in a library points to a deeper possibility: The Akashic Records are a flow of energy from spiritual to physical. The Akashic Records emerge from that which is transcendent, beyond human description and understanding, to flow into human consciousness. The Akashic Records are dynamic, of the infinite and eternal, flowing into linear, static, physical space.

Said another way, the Akashic Records flow from divine source and transcendent awareness into the consciousness of physical reality to follow the same path of awareness as humans undertake in manifesting soul within a human body.

As a flow of energy, the Akashic Records can be understood as spiritual revelation instead of a physical thing or location.

In understanding the Akashic Records as energetic flow, the door is open to seeing the Akashic Records as a process rather than a tangible product.

This is an excerpt from one of my newest books, 10+ Secrets of the Akashic Records.

Secret #4

Thought to be just a source of information about past lives, instead:

The Akashic Records transcend the limits of time and space.

Divine Awareness and the Akashic Records by Cheryl Marlene

If the Akashic Records are a book where every event, action, and thought are recorded, and, if there is free will and self-determination, then it should follow that the only information available is what is in the past. Otherwise, behaving as a book, where all is already written, the future has been determined, and there is no ability to choose. As written word, life has already been decided.

To reconcile the recording nature of the book metaphor with the notion of free choice, early in the modern history of the Akashic Records experts decided that only past life information is available.

Aided in this bias was the belief that as a source of past life information, if one successfully accessed the Akashic Records, they would see any past event clearly and factually like viewing a movie. Additionally, within the idea that the troubles of this current life are rooted in the misdeeds and misfortunes of previous lives, it follows that the right answers for life now is found in retrieving past offenses.

This viewing capacity reinforced the notion about past lives and that the Akashic Records contain the right answer.

The limit of only past life information goes mostly unchallenged because at the heart of this belief is the problem of being able to explain how a heavenly book works within the physical world.

Every detail of how a book is recorded and consulted, how a library could be large enough to contain every person on Earth, and how there could be any accuracy which doesn’t invalidate free will – all pose problems. The mind boggles to figure the logistics within the facts of linear time and space. The discrepancies appear to disprove the existence of the Akashic Records.

On the other hand, as a matter of faith, is the validation that the Akashic Records reside in the realm of the experts who are spiritually advanced and able to gain access to the mysteries of previous lives. In this way, the dilemma of the future is sidestepped.

However, as Secret #3 revealed, the Akashic Records are an expression of divine awareness and thus transcend the limits of physical space and linear time. This can be a bit difficult to understand because human experience is oriented towards perception within the linear constraints of past, present, and future and the limitations of three physical dimensions.

As transcendent, spiritual energetic flow, the Akashic Records exist beyond the limits of linear event chronology and emerge from the origins of the soul, just as the human being is an integration of spiritual and physical.

How?

The information and knowing of the Akashic Records emerge through this energetic flow from divine awareness.

How does this work?

In part, a leap of faith is required for there is no definitive proof, just as there is no definitive proof of the existence of the Divine. Instead, proof comes from awareness within self of that which is transcendent.

Understanding everything as energy creates an opening to step beyond the limitations of physical space and linear time. Just as the advent of the microscope and the telescope opened doors to new awareness of possibilities for human existence, considering awareness beyond previously perceived limits offers a path to new understanding.

To shift to this awareness, the beginning point is to understand that the Akashic Records were not literally written down in some past moment.

Instead, the Akashic Records are “written” in the moment of asking. When the Akashic Records are consulted, the past is not being retrieved. Instead, the response emerges in the present moment along the same path as divine awareness. The transcendent made manifest. Beyond the constraints of past lives and physical time and space, the Akashic Records reveal soul truth in this present moment.

Secret #5

Mistakenly believed too complex to be accessible except by spiritual masters, instead:

The Akashic Records may be accessed by anyone.

New Light of Possibility for the Akashic Records by Cheryl Marlene

As a Spiritual Guide in the Akashic Records, I am very aware that, in a historical sense, I should not be doing what I do. I am not a spiritual master. I am not male. Since I am not accepting of the stereotypes and misconceptions of the Akashic Records, perhaps it would be advisable to yield, to be quiet.

Instead, I perceive that I am holding a light on a new possibility, a new path. If I can explore and learn from this path, others can, too. When it comes to the Akashic Records, the only difference between you and me is that I have experience and am further down the road. We are all capable of extraordinary experience – the roadblock is trusting yourself to move beyond the erroneous notions of yesterday.

Historically, within many religious traditions, lies the argument over who has the wisdom and authority to perceive and receive sacred truth. Generally, this is a debate which creates opposition between religious authorities and the individual. The priest is perceived to have a level of mastery the individual does not possess. In contrast, many believe they do not need someone to transmit or interpret on their behalf – access with the divine is through personal experience.

If a source of information is perceived to be accessible only by an expert or master, then the search for the right answer can only be found at the doorway of an expert or master. Limited access and complexity can elevate both the information and the expert as beyond ordinary. Raised above the everyday, those who are not enough cannot enter. Information is filtered and becomes more valuable because of the limited access. This then reinforces the necessity of scrambling for the right answer and the easy steps from the experts because their access to the limited is seen to prove the validity of what they offer. At the same time, this reinforces the uselessness of the individual who is not capable or wise enough to be an expert and thus cannot access the Akashic Records.

Access to the Akashic Records is not limited to experts. However, access requires integrity, intention, flexibility, and the ability to maintain present moment awareness. These requirements are supported when connection with the Akashic Records is clearly defined and agreed to with self and with the Akashic Records.

Spiritual connection requires clarity of thought and an openness beyond personal expectations and limiting belief. The mistake is believing your knowing and understanding is limited to the linear and the physical. Instead, the most beneficial stance is to approach the Akashic Records within the power of I am here to learn. Learning is the approach which supports deepest connection with the Akashic Records.

In the openness to learn, personal knowing comes through more than just the five physical senses. Knowing expands beyond what is defined as linear and opens to the perspective beyond the limits of physical time and space. This openness is available to all.

This perspective creates the opportunity to connect with the depth and breadth of the Akashic Records beyond limiting self-belief and social convention. Relieved from having to “figure it out,” you can now accept a way to learn to connect with the transcendent awareness of the Akashic Records.

Limits are self-perceived. The Akashic Records exist beyond the limits of human knowing. With trust of self and a willingness to move beyond ego’s arrogance, anyone has the potential to connect with the Akashic Records if they so choose.

This is an excerpt from one of my newest books, 10+ Secrets of the Akashic Records.

Secret #6

Neither predictive nor specific, instead:

The Akashic Records are about possibility and probability.

When an immediate right answer is wanted, there is comfort in turning to a source which confidently predicts the future and explains past troubles. Seers of all kinds, including some Akashic Record Readers, offer the illusion of prediction because they are perceived to have skill and technique considered unavailable to the general public. Further, predictive attributes are not limited to psychics. Experts across the spectrum of knowledge are believed by some to be endowed with the gift of prediction. Their prognostications are part of what establish their expertise.

It’s one thing to value an expert’s prediction as infallible and another to understand prediction as but one description of future possibility.

If the Akashic Records are truly a spectacular source of information of all thought, feeling, belief, and action, past, present, and future, then it follows that there should be specific information. For example, you will meet Mr. Right standing at the corner of Ash and Elm at 10:46 a.m. next Friday. Wear purple so he will recognize you.

Nope.

Unhinged from the constraints of linear time, the Akashic Records offer knowing which connects with inner truth. The point is not to focus on the destination of the right answer. Rather to understand the probable directions and the possibilities contained within. It’s like being on a train, you get to your desired destination, but you also have the choice of getting off and finding another mode of transportation, headed to a place which resonates with personal truth and choice.

Possibility is infinite and eternal and forms the basis of the Akashic Records for all. Connecting with the Akashic Records reveals expanded understanding of personal possibility and the probability of possibility in this moment as well as in the future.

This is an excerpt from one of my newest books, 10+ Secrets of the Akashic Records.

Secret #7

Not limited to revealing life purpose, instead:

The Akashic Records offer a view of possible steps toward your future.

The Akashic Records Beyond Life Purpose by Cheryl Marlene

The Akashic Records are often perceived to be a primary dispensary of life purpose. Finding the right answer to life’s purpose provides a clear path to knowing how to be a worthy person, how to live life, and how to plan for the future.

Just as the right answer, life purpose is presented as the be-all and end-all of life, especially within a spiritual perspective. In this context, the search for life purpose becomes the way to uncover the meaning of life. Those searching in this way expect to be told specifically: go be a doctor and find the cure for cancer, or as a teacher, show others how to find the right answer. As the Book of Life, the Akashic Records should be the authority on fate and destiny and, thus, the perfect source of next steps framed within life’s perfect path.

In contrast, responding in this moment, to the request for understanding, the Akashic Records provide awareness of the truth within which resonates with the best of your being and becoming. Not relieving either self-choice or personal responsibility, what comes forward is provided to support motion forward in all of life. Instead of the despondency of limited possibility, the energy of the Akashic Records connects and opens personal awareness. This openness is balanced, aligned, and connected to the deepest expression of meaning to support you as you take in this moment and see the possibilities of life unfold before you.

Secret #8

Misconception that the content is determined by the Reader, instead:

The Akashic Records flow through intention and responsibility of the Receiver – the person who asks.

My experience opening the Akashic Records is like a conversation with a group of trusted friends. What I receive comes through all my senses and through all the ways I receive knowing. I can see images, and frequently I hear a voice whispering in my ear. I may receive feeling and, occasionally, I receive taste and smell. Often, I just know. I can connect and receive because over time I have learned I’m good enough to do so, and I can trust myself to allow truth to move forward without self-judgment interfering.

Because the flow of the Akashic Records is initiated by intention, response from the Akashic Records comes through my questions. I ask, and in asking, I establish intention and my responsibility for what transpires and how I translate response into choice.

To ask is to receive especially within the Akashic Records. For your asking initiates the energetic flow.

The same is true in opening Akashic Records for another where flow is guided by the intention of the person for whom the Akashic Records are opened. The Reader is not to provide intention nor to fix the Receiver.

Instead, the Reader’s responsibility is to keep personal opinion out of the flow and to transmit what is provided to the Receiver truthfully and without reservation. Nor is the healing capacity of the Akashic Records controlled by the Reader. Rather, healing balance is a motion guided by the Receiver’s intention and is up to the Receiver to embrace or not.

The Akashic Records work this way for two reasons:

Only you can know your truth. Others may express personal knowing in a way which helps you uncover and understand your truth. But as the sole authority of you, only you can recognize truth for yourself.

Within the Akashic Records, the only question which can be answered is the question asked by the Receiver. Embedded in any question is the intention and responsibility of the person who asks.

Thus, in an Akashic Record Reading, I am not telling the person her truth nor am I fixing or healing her. To do so is to assume responsibility for another, to assume authority, to elevate self as somehow better than. This arrogance interferes and distorts, separating both Reader and Receiver from truth, trust, and authentic compassion.

Asking is one of the most powerful spiritual practices. For the Reader to yield to the Receiver’s questions, an incredible, powerful, sacred space is created to support divine revelation specifically intended for the Receiver.

Therefore, the Akashic Records flow through intention and responsibility of the Receiver – the person who asks.

This is an excerpt from one of my newest books, 10+ Secrets of the Akashic Records.

Secret #9

Interpreted as a database in the sky, instead:

The Akashic Records, beyond information, are a source of divine knowing.

The development of computers has provided a new metaphor for understanding the nature and inner workings of the Akashic Records. Perceived as a huge database in the sky, the Akashic Records are thought to be accessible like any computer. As a computer, events can be added, deleted, and edited. Within the metaphor of a database, life can be word-processed, shifting everything past, present, and future. Life, and all perceived mistakes across time, can be fixed as the one right answer is found. Don’t like your past life, edit it out. Want a different future, blot the past from the file in the sky and roadblocks are eliminated. No longer complicated, if you can use a computer; life can be right, perfect, solved.

As enticing as this may sound, cut and pasting life is an ineffective, superficial approach to dealing with the challenges life presents. This idea reinforces the notion that an expert knows you best. Viewing the Akashic Records as an energetic flow, offers an alternative which does not substitute outside belief for personal truth.

The database perspective also holds the perception of the Akashic Records as a storehouse of information past, present, and future. Secret #4 helped expand the Akashic Records beyond the limits of linear time. The next step is to understand why the Akashic Records are more than information.

Information is important and the Akashic Records contain vast, uncountable amounts of information – and there is more.

Think about how you know something. The moment before, you don’t have awareness, and in the next moment you become aware of a new idea, a new thought, a new perception. Somehow the unknown becomes known within personal awareness. This process of gathering new awareness is what I define as knowing. When you take a moment to consider how you gather new awareness, you can recognize that the unknown moves into your known through all your senses and your intuitive awareness.

Now you are aware of the energetic process of how information is received within the Akashic Records. Moving from soul origin, the unknown follows the flow of divine awareness to make itself known within your awareness.

Thus, information is the end product of gathering awareness. The entire process is knowing.

This means the Akashic Records aren’t solely about retrieving information or the right answer. Instead, the Akashic Records are a flow of knowing through divine awareness revealing within you the knowing of your truth.

This is an excerpt from one of my newest books, 10+ Secrets of the Akashic Records.

Secret #10

Not a quick fix, instead:

The Akashic Records provide healing through release and balance.

The emphasis on the right answer conveys a sense of quick fix. Tell the librarian what you are looking for and you’ll go home with a pile of books which solve the dilemma. Again, the motion is outside of self to consult with someone who has more information or special skills – neither of which you have.

The motion of the right answer also conveys a sense of immediate healing.

Healing has many definitions and perspectives, not all of which are personally supportive.

In the context of the Akashic Records, healing is balance or more specifically awareness of where balance is in the moment.

The energy of the Akashic Records supports balance and awareness of where and how balance may be identified and experienced. Additionally, healing in this aspect is not the waving of a magic wand. Instead, the perspective provides support and guidance, so personal choice and responsibility can be maintained and you are able to do your work, releasing obstacles and limiting beliefs.

Healing within the Akashic Records is very much about release through the fulcrum of personal truth. Learning facilitates openness, which in turn facilitates reception of perspectives unseen a moment before. The perspective resonates deeply, releasing that which no longer serves.

Healing is not done on you. Instead, healing is an inner, personal process, possible within the sacred energy of the Akashic Records.
