Part One: Partner Practice Questions
While in Practicum today, we did these question in partner practice, you can also use these questions in your own Akashic Records.
- What is beneficial for me to understand today about balance?
- What can I do to improve my ability to trust myself?
- What personal habits or beliefs hold me back from achieving my dreams?
- What am I learning about myself as my life changes?
- What can I learn today that will help me move forward in my life?
- What is my truth today?
Part Two: Biography Reading as a Group
A biography reading is an Akashic Records reading done on behalf of a person who has volunteered their biographical information and questions. The reader opens the records of the subject, receives on their behalf, and stays within the questions the subject has asked.
Biography readings develop a different capacity than partner practice. In partner practice, you're reading for someone you know — someone sitting across from you, giving you cues through their presence and energy. In a biography reading, you're reading for someone you have no personal relationship with. The cues you might rely on in a personal reading are stripped away, and you have to trust what comes through the Records on its own terms.
In this practicum, we worked with Joseph Langdon:
Biography: Joseph Langdon was born on December 13, 1832, in London, England. At the time of asking, he is 42 years old. He is married to Elizabeth and has a daughter, Lizzie, and a son, Joseph. No other family.
In his words: "I'm 42 years old. I was an orphan raised in a monastery, educated there, and given a sum of money to begin my way in the world. I made my way through law school and set up my practice in the town of Derbyshire. I want to focus my learning about the potential of soul during physical manifestation. I'm five and a half feet tall, 30 stone, brown hair and eyes. In many lives, I've worked with the Akashic Records. We are fellow travelers."
When opening his Records, after completing the blessing and before saying "The records are open," add this statement:
On behalf of [full name], may the response through me appear within the soul's awareness and the Akashic Records of [first name] as benefit, direction, and support.
Then say: "The records are open."
Work through the subject's questions in order. You may ask the Records for clarity on what you're receiving, but do not add your own questions. The subject has offered their inquiry — the discipline is to serve that inquiry, not redirect it toward your own curiosity.
- What can I do to support my daughter in finding her soul's deepest expression?
- What is the deepest learning for me in this life?
- How do the experiences of this life contribute to the entirety of my soul?
- What was the purpose of being an orphan in this life?
- How do I navigate the rigid belief structures of physical life to experience life at the deepest level?

Student Tips
Especially when you are opening the Records for Other, express whatever you receive, even when it doesn't make sense.
Not every image, word, or sensation will resolve into a tidy answer. Sometimes you'll get something which seems completely unrelated — a popped tire, a cavity, mold, an animal you weren't expecting. Describe the response you receive as best as you can. Don't try to make sense of it yourself. What may seem like nonsense to you may carry meaning for the Receiver. Or in having said it, the response might resolve later in the Reading. The instinct to force everything into a clear answer is strong. The practice is in resisting this instinct and trusting whatever you receive and transmit.
A scattered reading is not a failed reading.
If you ask for clarity and the information stays jumbled, this is information too — both about where the Receiver might be and where you might be in the moment with the question. Describe whatever the jumble may be. "I got a lot of images that didn't come together for me -- maybe they will for you" is a perfectly truthful thing to say. As a speaker of the truth, this is what you do.
Notice thematic convergence — and divergence.
When multiple readers work the same question independently and at the same time, and arrive at the same core theme from different angles, this is an interesting a sign of strong connection with the Records. And when one Reader gets something completely different from the rest of the group, this is equally valuable. This seeming outlier may be the piece which leads to the next layer. This may the piece which speaks to a different perspective. Neither are wrong and neither are absolutely right -- both are examples of the energetic flow of an Akashic Record Reading especially done as a group. Know that both convergence and divergence are part of how the Records work through individual human expression and combined group effort.
Information arrives in different forms.
One reader may receive articulate philosophical frameworks. Another may see vivid images. Another may get a single word or a physical sensation. Another may notice something in the environment — birds getting loud, a shift in temperature. None of these is better or more valid than the others. Your way of receiving will develop with practice, and it may change over time. Your way may also be different from session to session. Speaking words of wisdom: let it be!
Stay within the Receiver's questions.
In biography readings as in any Akashic Record Reading you do for another, the Receiver has asked for a Reading and the Reading is based solely on their question. As both witness and speaker of the truth, the discipline is to serve this inquiry. You can ask the Records for clarity on what you're receiving, but don't introduce your own questions or opinions.
Don't read for others when you're impaired.
If you've been drinking, using substances, or are otherwise not fully present, it's not a good time to open the Records for someone else. Reading when you're tired is fine — we all do it. But there's a difference between tired and impaired. While mostly your own Records are your own business; someone else's Records require you to be fully present.
Combining the Akashic Records with other modalities.
If you practice energy work, astrology, applied kinesiology, or any other modality, you can explore combining your work in a modality with Akashic Records work. The question to ask isn't "can I do it" — you can — but "what does it add?" If the combination doesn't produce something more than either practice alone, there's no reason to layer them. To explore the possibilities: go into your own Akashic Records and ask what kind of energy work or modality you might consider working with through the Akashic Records. Then open the Records of this modality and explore how combining them might work for you. Remember this is about exploration, not about expectation or assumption. Today's Reflection and Learning
We've all done readings when we're tired. But I know that when I'm not fully there — not feeling well, or not completely present — it isn't the time to go into the Records, especially to read for someone else; and that's true even of my own.
So much of what I received was all over the map. I saw him embracing his sensitivity, and then I saw a lot of mold, and I asked the Records what it meant and didn't get any clear response. Blessings are real; angels are a part of something; I kept hearing resurrection, reincarnation; I saw a tire that popped, a tooth cavity, something about the beaver trade — I have no clue. I kept asking for clarity, and I just felt like a brain scrambler. Maybe it meant something to him. When we went in, the birds outside got really loud, and I thought maybe I'd ask if that had anything to do with it — and it seemed like there was something there, an awareness of how souls have soul contracts, how souls travel together.
At first I just got silence. So I asked what it was about, and they said: learn how to be quiet within; it's the path for what is to come.
It's funny how themes run through all our answers. I'd wonder, why am I the only one getting this — and then it turns out we've all come at it from our own perspectives, with a theme running through. And sometimes there isn't one; sometimes there's a different take, which is also interesting.
It's amazing how we all get information in different ways. I remember one lady in our group who used to see the answers written in clouds across the sky — I thought that was so fascinating. It develops with practice. And it's so cool to do it in the group setting.
