Discovering work that resonates with your truth starts from within.
Looking for the Right Job — and Not Finding It?
One of the most common reasons people seek an Akashic Record Reading is to ask for guidance about work or career.
The question often sounds like this:
“I’m looking for a job. I don’t know where I fit in, and I’m not sure what I want. What I’ve seen doesn’t feel right. What do I do?”
The answer may surprise you. Instead of beginning with job listings or résumés, the Akashic Records suggest you begin with you.
Before looking outward, turn your attention inward. Before searching for a job, explore your inner sense of alignment — your feelings, your truth, your way of showing up.
Step One: Begin with the End in Mind
Imagine this:
You’ve just finished your first week in a new position.
It’s Friday evening, and you tell a close friend:
“Oh my goodness — I love this job! It’s exactly right for me!”
Now pause and ask yourself:
How do I feel when I say this?
Who am I in this job that feels so right?
Don’t focus yet on what you’re doing or where you’re working. Focus on how you feel. Do you feel balanced? Authentic? Energized? Peaceful? Inspired?
Write down those feelings. They are the essence of what you’re seeking — the energy signature of your ideal work.
Step Two: Connect Feeling with Activity
Choose one feeling from your list. Now ask yourself:
“What am I doing when I feel this way?”
Let the feeling lead — the activity will reveal itself.
You might find a series of connected feelings without a clear activity yet. That’s fine. Don’t push. Feel and connect. Feel and connect.
The goal is to uncover what you do when you feel most aligned and alive.
Step Three: Connect Activity with Location
Now imagine yourself in that work environment.
Where are you? What kind of space are you in?
Inside or outside? At a desk or in motion? Alone or collaborating?
This isn’t about naming a company — it’s about identifying the kind of space that supports your energy and your joy.
The feeling of “fit” tells you you’re aligned.
Step Four: Chart the Elements of Your New Position
Now bring it all together in a simple three-column chart.
Gotta Haves |
Second Suitcase |
Dream and Win |
The essentials — non-negotiable elements that must be present in your ideal job. |
The nice-to-haves — things that would be wonderful but aren’t deal breakers. |
The stretch goals — what would feel amazing, even if it seems impossible now. |
Include anything that arises — feelings, activities, environment, relationships, or values.
This chart becomes your map of alignment — a visual of what supports you in creating a career you love.
Step Five: Evaluate from Alignment, Not Desperation
Now, when you review opportunities, you’re not asking, “Do I fit into this job?”
You’re asking, “Does this job fit me?”
This shift is everything. You are no longer trying to force yourself into someone else’s mold.
You are auditioning potential employers for resonance with you.
This is not just job hunting — it’s career creation. You’ve begun with the end in mind, starting from the truth of who you are and what balance feels like for you.
That is how you create a career — and a life — you love.
Dream on.
