Removing Obstacles Through Awareness and Truth
In Indian mythology, Ganesha, the elephant-headed god, is the remover of obstacles.
Chanting his mantra — Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha — can be a powerful practice for releasing obstacles of all kinds, both external and internal.
In India, the image of Ganesha is often placed above the main doorway of a home, symbolizing protection and the clearing of obstacles for all who enter.
When I ask Ganesha for help, it is not only to remove the obstacles before me but to open my awareness to the truth within me.
I return to this mantra often when challenges arise.
Where I once saw obstacles as something to overcome or surrender to, I now see them as invitations — opportunities to observe where my truth sustains its balance.
In this way, Ganesha becomes not only the remover of obstacles but also the witness to the deep source of connection that lives within us all.
The flipside of obstacles is connection, and the conduit between them is truth.
Obstacles may cloud our awareness of truth; connection arises when truth becomes clear.
Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha.
Help me remove my obstacles.
Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha.
What is my truth today?
