This is the book the good girl writes when she grows up and follows her own advice:
Question the f*cking assumption.
Someone tells you they know what is true for you, what is wrong with you, what you need, what your path should look like. They say it with authority — spiritual authority, medical authority, institutional authority, familial authority. And because they are so certain, you do what most of us do: you assume the problem is you.
The problem isn't you. The issue is the assumption. And behind the assumption is something more insidious — someone else's certainty wielded as power over you and your real-life experience.
Question the F*cking Assumption names what happens when someone else's framework, interpretation, or certainty become more authoritative than your own experience. The spiritual teacher who tells you what the universe intends for you. The doctor who dismisses your body's data because it doesn't fit the protocol. The family member whose version of reality you were required to make yours. The healer who knows exactly what your soul needs. The institution that mistakes its framework for truth and your experience for noise.
This is a book about the overlording of certainty — the moment when someone else's information is made more authoritative than your own experience, and you begin questioning yourself instead of questioning the interpretation being dumped on you. This happens in churches and clinics, in families and healing circles, in boardrooms and therapy sessions. And it happens most effectively when the person doing the assuming about you genuinely believes they're helping.
This isn't a book about bad people. Nor is it a treatise telling you to reject every teacher, expert, or guide. Expertise is real. Authority has legitimate domains. Frameworks can be useful. The question is what happens when someone else's certainty crosses the boundary of their knowing and becomes authority over yours.
This book is about recognizing this shift — and refusing to abandon your own experience simply because someone else is louder, more credentialed, or more certain.
This book lives where most people won't go — at the edge where spiritual conviction meets intellectual honesty, where knee-jerk I know meets skeptical Do you, though? It's for anyone who has ever sat in the presence of absolute certainty and felt something in them whisper: This isn't right.
Trust your whisper. Question the f*cking assumption.
Warning: There are parts of this book some may find troubling and others may find overly abrasive. As the author, I don't know what these parts might be because I'm not you and I don't know your personal triggers. Know that inside the book I have removed the * from one of the title's words. If the reality of the vowel's presence is upsetting, then, for sure, this book is not for you.
