Let’s be honest: most people worry they’re going to do this wrong.
You forget to close your Records and wonder—
Did I mess something up?
Did I leave a door open I shouldn't have?
Here’s the short answer:
No, nothing bad happens.
You’re not going to get hit by lightning. Your soul won’t go rogue. You didn’t fail.
Here’s the deeper answer:
The Akashic Records open and close based on your intention.
That’s it. Your attention is the switch.
When you turn your focus away, the Records naturally begin to fade into the background. If you forget to close them formally, you can always just pause and say the closing prayer when you remember.
Simple. Direct. No judgment.
Some folks tell me they can actually feel the shift when they close—the energy winds down, and their awareness drops back into the here and now. That feeling? It’s real. It’s a return to presence, to embodiment, to grounded focus.
But again: if you forget, nothing terrible happens.
No spiritual punishment.
No energetic penalty.
The Akashic Records don’t work like that.
That said, keeping them open all the time doesn’t work either.
I’ve had students try to sleep with their Records open, hoping for soul dreams or downloads. But here’s the truth: the Records are a conscious connection. You need intention, presence, and a clear why.
Otherwise, it’s just noise.
And yes—some people do report feeling tired if they leave their Records open for too long. That’s not because something is wrong. It’s because your system is holding a field that requires attention—and if your energy is scattered or you’re multitasking, it can wear on you.
What’s more helpful is this:
Open with intention. Ask your questions. Receive. Close.
Then go live your life.
That’s what the Records want from you.
I’ve never used the Records to micromanage my life. I don’t ask them whether I should eat soup or salad, or what color to wear, or whether to turn left or right at the light. That’s not the point.
The point is that working in the Records has taught me to trust myself.
To know what’s mine.
To choose what aligns.
To live with clarity and integrity.
And if I have a meaningful question?
I open. I ask. I listen. I close.
It’s a rhythm. A sacred cycle. A moment of connection that helps me stand more firmly in my own truth.
So yes, if you’re stepping away from your Records for a while—even an hour—it’s better to close and then reopen when you return. That’s not a rule. That’s a support for your own energetic clarity.
And remember this:
The Records will never override your choice.
They will never control your direction.
They will offer truth, perspective, insight—but you are always the one who chooses.
That’s part of the sacredness.
Not just trusting the Records.
But learning to trust yourself.
